Progress…

Monday, September 8, 2014 6:57 No Comments
Our homie Wesley is doing great, and has been cleared to go home. He's still got a lot of work ahead of him during his recovery, but he's crushing it, and has an excellent partner in his wife Candra! Thanks to all of you, we were able to raise a bunch of money for them through the benefit shirts, which will really help them focus on recovery. We are anxiously awaiting the shirts from the printers (there was a short delay beyond our control), and should have them in the next couple of days. We will start shipping them out to all of you at the end of this week. Thanks again for your support and patience!

ACAB (All Cars Are Bastards)

We're stoked to be able to run this shirt for our boy Wesley, and ALL proceeds will be going to Candra and Wesley for his recovery efforts!! You can grab one in the Death Science store, which we brought out of retirement solely for this benefit. Orders can be placed until Monday, August 25th, and then the store will be closed and the shirts will be printed and shipped.

Big thanks to our homeboy Marco, over at Mach Modified, for capturing Wesley's pre-wrecked Panhead on this design! If you look close, you can see Wesley's new mantra painted on the gas tank...

And just in case you're not a fan of the shirt, see the previous post for how to donate to Wesley's GoFundMe account. Also, Show Class magazine is doing some cool stuff to help Wesley out as well, so check them out when you get a chance!

Man down…yes, another one

Our boy Wesley got hit pretty hard and is down right now. He's got a long road ahead of him, and his family could definitely use some help. His awesome wife Candra is doing a great job of keeping him positive and cheering him on, but he'll be out of work for a while, and we all know that leads to stress, which slows recovery. Another homie Brannon has set up a GoFundMe page for Wes and we're asking anybody who can, to donate what you can...even if it's just a dollar. Every little bit helps, and collectively, it all adds up! Thanks!

Revenge Run IV: Escape from Ocracoke

Sunday, May 18, 2014 16:44 No Comments

Revenge Run IV: Escape from Ocracoke from Show Class Magazine on Vimeo.

So, a year late and a lot shorter than the last movie. Bite me. I've been busy. This Revenge Run had a weird rhythm to it, like we were always outrunning the weather and behind schedule, but looking back it was a fun time, as always, and it was great to see friends from far and near. Kudos to the guys and gals who rode from all over through the rain just to be there. Special thanks to everyone who filmed this and let me chop up the footage. I didn't film that much and it was cool to see where all of the rides originated: Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland.... So to Josh Hoffman, Billy Childress, Josh Rising, Shane Eastwood, Sewer Rob, Dalton St. John and Shawn Zinn thank you for filming and letting me chop it up. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Larry Pierce – The Highwayman

Saturday, May 3, 2014 19:47 No Comments

Larry Pierce - The Highwayman from Show Class Magazine on Vimeo.

Larry was a rare soul who I didn't know before filming him last year in 2013, but I grew to quickly love his spirit. Tim, Chad and myself went down to do the first video and we all had a feeling out process as far as what to film, how funny it should be and the tone. We quickly learned each other's rhythm and produced what I thought was a funny film in 24 hours.

This year, Tim and Chad weren't able to make it so I flew down myself. Larry had just lost his brother, Jeff, in a car accident, and I wasn't sure if we were going to do the film or not, but Ashley said he would be ready. When he picked me up from the airport I was immediately at ease and remembering why I liked Larry so much. Here was a guy who had just lost his brother and he was concerned that my room and flight were comfortable. He put the needs of other above himself. Always.

As the filming went on we shared many laughs. Larry had many friends, but as a speaker said at the funeral, when you were with Larry it was like you were his only friend. Despite texting a lot, I had only met Larry face to face two times, yet felt as though we were good friends by the end of filming his last Born Free film. We called a wrap and went to a bar to celebrate and hang out. It was one of those perfect weekends filled with laughter, tomfoolery and friendship.

In a world of prevarication, Larry's honesty, manners and goodness stood out to me. He was a southern gentlemen in every sense of the word. I was lucky, if only briefly, to call him my friend.

The idea of reincarnation appeals to the wannabe physicist in me. Energy can neither be created or destroyed. It simply disassembles and then reassembles into something else, but perhaps the essence remains. Larry's essence was goodness and it lives on through whatever form Larry takes now.

If you can remember someone, then they never truly die. Let us always remember Larry Pierce.

Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go

Highway to the Danger Zone
Ride into the Danger Zone

Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the track
And shovin' into overdrive

Highway to the Danger Zone
I'll take you
Right into the Danger Zone

You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do
Until you get it up as high as you can go

Out along the edges
Always where I burn to be
The further on the edge
The hotter the intensity

Highway to the Danger Zone
Gonna take you
Right into the Danger Zone

This is how I'll always remember Larry...having a good time, no matter what. He always made us laugh, and he was the epitome of Southern hospitality. The whole Death Science and Show Class family has been influenced by Larry and Ashley in such a positive way, and we could only hope to carry that influence on in the same manner. We love you Ashley, and we'll miss you greatly Larry.
